Resources FAQ
What is SOUL.md in Hermes Agent?
SOUL.md is the agent's identity file. It holds its personality, tone and communication style, and Hermes loads it as the first part of the system prompt in every session.
What should not go in SOUL.md?
Project instructions, file paths and repo conventions belong in AGENTS.md in the project folder. SOUL.md is for guidance that should follow the agent everywhere.
