Tested configs and walkthroughs for running Hermes Agent on real hardware
Hermes Recipes is a collection of working Hermes Agent configs, deploy scripts and walkthroughs, each tested on the author's own Mac Mini M4 and RTX 5090 hardware before being published.
What Hermes Recipes does
Each walkthrough lives in its own recipes/ folder with the exact configs and scripts used, plus a README describing the commands and what they produced; nothing ships here until it has run on real hardware. Published walkthroughs cover running Hermes Agent around the clock on a Mac Mini M4 with launchd and a watchdog, installing it on a cheap VPS with a systemd setup that survives reboot, locking down a self-hosted Hermes so its gateway, dashboard and API server stay closed by default, and serving a fully local model on one consumer GPU.
docs/wingtips/ collects the author's daily Hermes Wingtips tip series, also available as a single llms.txt file for agents to read, and a CHANGELOG.md tracks what shipped in Hermes Agent in plain language. Planned recipes cover extending Hermes with a custom TypeScript MCP server and using persistent memory with FTS5 recall in practice.

- Daily "Hermes Wingtips" tip series collected as a browsable site and an llms.txt file
When to use it
- Copying a tested systemd setup to keep a self-hosted Hermes gateway running after reboot
- Locking down a Hermes install's gateway, dashboard and API server before exposing it
- Running Hermes fully locally on a single consumer GPU, sized for a 27B model at 64K context
Who it is for: Hermes Agent operators who want configs and deploy steps already verified on real hardware, not just documentation.
