About Hermes Atlas

What is Hermes Atlas?

Hermes Atlas is an independent directory of open-source GitHub repositories that are built for, or work with, Hermes Agent, the self-improving AI agent made by Nous Research. It exists to make the ecosystem easy to search and compare.

Hermes Atlas is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nous Research. Repositories outside the NousResearch GitHub organization are community projects. Always read a project's code before you run it, and prefer running agents on a separate server or in a container.

How repos are found

We search GitHub for repositories tagged hermes-agent, repositories that mention Hermes Agent in their name or description, Hermes skill and plugin topics, and widely used projects whose README documents Hermes Agent support. We also include the public repositories of the NousResearch organization that relate to Hermes.

How repos are reviewed and described

Each repository with at least 10 stars is reviewed against its README and GitHub metadata, then:

  • classified as built for Hermes Agent or compatible with Hermes Agent (a general tool that supports it among others), or removed if it has no real connection;
  • placed in one of 15 categories;
  • given a plain-English description, a feature list, use cases and an FAQ written from the README only. Install commands are shown only when they appear in the README, copied as written.

Repositories with no visible link to Hermes Agent, look-alike download pages, and projects built to bypass safety controls are left out. Smaller repositories are listed on the all repos pages and link straight to GitHub until they are reviewed.

How often the data changes

Stars, forks, licenses and dates come from the GitHub API and were last collected on October 10, 2026. Rankings use GitHub stars, which measure attention rather than quality, so check recent activity and open issues too.

Corrections and submissions

If a description is wrong, or your repository is missing, open the repository on GitHub, make sure it has the hermes-agent topic and a README that explains how it works with Hermes Agent. It will be picked up in the next refresh.
