Hermes Relay for Chrome

workingclassbuddha/hermes-relay-for-chrome

Chrome extension that gives a local Hermes Agent page context, notes and handoff to other AI assistants

In short

Hermes Relay for Chrome is a Manifest V3 extension that captures redacted context from the current page and sends it to your local Hermes API server for summaries, questions and research. It can also hand compact context bundles to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.

What Hermes Relay for Chrome does

The extension runs page-aware workflows such as Ask, Summarize, Next Steps, Extract Tasks, Research, Compare and Build Context. Notes, snapshots, tracked pages, direct threads and recent workspace output are kept in Chrome local storage, and Hermes can recognise pages you revisit. A side panel provides a full workspace, and context-menu actions include saving a selection to Hermes memory.

It talks to the Hermes API server at http://127.0.0.1:8642, also probing localhost, using endpoints such as /health, /v1/models and /v1/responses. The repository includes no hosted backend. Insert Latest places the newest handoff context into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or a custom AI host you explicitly allow. An optional mode shares browser context with an attached live Hermes terminal session. Keyboard shortcuts are Alt+Shift+H, Alt+Shift+C and Alt+Shift+I.
