Self-hosted dashboard that turns events posted by a Hermes agent into a live relationship map and brief
AI Signal Engine is a self-hosted Next.js dashboard that receives structured events from a Nous Hermes Agent, or any agent that can browse and POST, and draws them as a live relationship map. It also generates a creator brief with a verification checklist.
What AI Signal Engine does
AI Signal Engine splits the work between an agent and a dashboard. A Hermes Agent, deployed on a Hostinger VPS through Docker Manager in the author's setup, scans sources, scores each finding and sends structured JSON events to POST /api/events with a bearer token. The dashboard never controls the agent and needs no LLM key of its own. It is a Next.js 16 TypeScript app with a JSON file store in ./data.
Events appear on a React Flow map as story nodes joined by typed threads such as competes with, supports, same trend and risk connection, grouped into sector territories. A Day Rail scopes the board to a single retrieval day, clicking a thread gives a synthesized take on the pair, and a live agent log streams over SSE at /api/stream behind a password gate. A deterministic brief engine produces angles, story bundles, talking points, a verification checklist and a do-not-overstate list. RSS sources can be scanned into draft events, and nothing is published automatically.
Key features
- React Flow relationship map with typed threads, entity nodes, filters and search
- Event ingestion by authenticated POST to /api/events
- Live updates over SSE and a password-gated dashboard
- Day Rail time travel that scopes the board to one retrieval day
- Brief generator with talking points, a verification checklist and a do-not-overstate list
- RSS scan endpoint that creates draft events, plus a demo simulator
When to use it
- Tracking AI industry news with a Hermes agent doing the research
- Preparing a creator brief with a list of claims to verify before publishing
- Screen-recording a live agent research session as it fills the map
Who it is for: Content creators and researchers who want an always-on Hermes agent to feed a visual news-tracking dashboard.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Built around Nous Hermes Agent, which acts as the researcher and posts events to the dashboard, though any agent that can browse and send HTTP POST requests can feed it.
Requirements: A Hermes Agent, or another agent able to browse and POST HTTP events, to supply the data; the dashboard itself needs no LLM key
FAQ
What is AI Signal Engine?
AI Signal Engine is a self-hosted dashboard that shows structured research events from an autonomous agent as a live relationship map. It also turns them into a brief for creators.
Does AI Signal Engine work with Hermes Agent?
Yes, it is built around Nous Hermes Agent, which researches sources and POSTs JSON events to the dashboard. The README says any agent that can browse and POST can be used instead.
Does the AI Signal Engine dashboard need an LLM API key?
No, the dashboard itself needs no LLM key. Model access for Hermes is configured separately on the machine where the agent runs.
