Electron desktop app that bundles Python, Hermes Agent and hermes-web-ui into one download
Hermes Desktop is a cross-platform Electron app that bundles a Python runtime, hermes-agent and the hermes-web-ui dashboard into a single download, so users do not need to install Python or Node.
What Hermes Desktop does
The app is a packaging shell. Its Electron main process starts the vendored hermes-web-ui Koa server on 127.0.0.1:8648 and opens it in a window with an auth token injected through a preload script. The bundled Python, built with python-build-standalone, has hermes-agent installed from PyPI at build time, and the web UI is included as a git submodule. The README credits Nous Research for Hermes Agent and EKKO Learn AI for hermes-web-ui.
Installers are published on GitHub Releases for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel dmg), Windows x64 (exe), Linux x64 (AppImage and deb) and Linux arm64 (AppImage). The v0.x builds are not code-signed, so macOS needs xattr -cr run on the app once and Windows SmartScreen needs More info, then Run anyway. A demo in the README shows Hermes Desktop chatting through DingTalk with DeepSeek. The repository description says the project has moved to EKKOLearnAI/hermes-web-ui and that this repo is kept for historical releases.
