Agent Terminal

rishiskhare/agent-terminal

Chrome side-panel terminal that lets coding agents, including Hermes, control your live browser tabs

In short

Agent Terminal is a Chrome extension with a built-in terminal that lets coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Hermes drive the tabs you already have open. You watch in the side panel and can take over at any time.

What Agent Terminal does

Agent Terminal puts a real terminal in Chrome's side panel. From there you launch a coding agent and let it work on the Chrome tabs you are already using: open pages, click, fill forms and take snapshots, while you watch and can step in.

The extension does not touch page DOM itself. Browser actions run through Vercel's agent-browser CLI inside the terminal, and agents are pointed to it by an AGENTS.md file you can edit. Because it is a plain terminal, you can use Playwright, Puppeteer or another tool instead. The launcher offers Claude, Codex, Cursor, Hermes, OpenClaw or a plain Terminal, with up to 8 terminals per Chrome window, and sessions survive closing the side panel. Remote debugging is turned on once at chrome://inspect/#remote-debugging.

Key features

  • Terminal inside Chrome's side panel
  • One-click launcher for Claude, Codex, Cursor, Hermes and OpenClaw
  • Agents attach to your live Chrome, never Chrome-for-Testing
  • Up to 8 terminals per window, sessions survive closing the panel
  • Setup doctor that detects agent CLIs and writes AGENTS.md
  • Isolated browser session per concurrent agent

When to use it

  • Letting Hermes fill a form in a tab where you are already logged in
  • Watching an agent work in the side panel and taking over when needed
  • Running several agents at once, each with its own browser session

Who it is for: Developers who want coding agents to act on their real Chrome session while they supervise.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Hermes is one of the agents in the one-click launcher menu, alongside Claude, Codex, Cursor and OpenClaw.
