Hermes desktop plugin that turns any image into light and dark themes with a 16-color terminal palette
Theme Lab is a desktop plugin for Hermes Agent that builds a complete app theme from any image you paste or drop in. It extracts a color palette, generates light and dark variants with a 16-slot terminal palette, and installs them live in the Hermes desktop app.
What Theme Lab does
Theme Lab ships as a single plain ES module plugin whose id is theme-forge. You paste, drag in or browse for an image, and it extracts dominant colors with median-cut palette extraction and maps them onto every DesktopTheme token. The swatch in slot one becomes the background, slot two becomes the text color for the interface and terminal, and the first chromatic swatch becomes the accent, used exactly as placed with no blending.
Each forge produces light and dark variants and a full 16-slot ANSI terminal palette. Themes register through THEMES_AREA, so they appear in Settings, Appearance, in the command palette search and in the /skin command. You can drag swatches to change priority, open a color picker with an eyedropper, rename or delete themes, and reforge from the saved source image. Themes persist in plugin storage with schema migration. The plugin has no dependencies, no build step and needs no API keys.
