Vessel

AI browser that shows every action in a real window for Hermes, OpenClaw or any provider
Vessel is an AI-assisted web browser, built on Chromium, that keeps automation visible in a real browser window so you can follow, approve or redirect what the AI is doing, built to work with Hermes Agent, OpenClaw or any API provider you supply.
What Vessel does
Instead of running automation invisibly, Vessel renders pages like a normal browser so the AI's navigation, form-filling and research are visible as they happen; you can approve sensitive actions once or for a scoped run or domain, reject with steering, undo recent changes, or take over manually at any point. Durable conversation threads, a cross-source run inbox, named sessions, checkpoints, notes, bookmarks and page-change tracking make longer, interrupted browsing work recoverable rather than lost when a session ends.
Power users reach the same foundation through a Command Bar for harness-driven workflows, a Supervisor Sidebar with ten live tabs, and support for external agents, MCP clients and browser-automation tooling, with a built-in chat assistant covering Anthropic, OpenAI, Ollama, llama.cpp, Mistral, xAI and other providers. Linux is the most mature install target today; macOS release packaging is available building from source, and the project describes itself as early software.
Key features
- Visible, real-browser-window automation instead of a hidden headless run
- Approve, reject-with-steering or undo controls over AI-driven browser actions
- Durable sessions, checkpoints, notes and bookmarks for interrupted multi-day research
- Command Bar and Supervisor Sidebar for harness-driven and MCP-client workflows
- BYOK support for Anthropic, OpenAI, Ollama, llama.cpp, Mistral, xAI and more
When to use it
- Running longer AI-assisted research sessions that survive being closed and reopened
- Letting a Hermes or OpenClaw agent browse and fill forms with visible human approval
- Connecting an external MCP client to a real, supervised browser instead of a headless one
Who it is for: People who want AI-assisted browsing they can watch and interrupt, and developers who want MCP or agent access to a real, supervised browser.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Vessel lists Hermes Agent, alongside OpenClaw, as a supported way to drive the browser, in addition to connecting any other API provider directly.
