Hermes Agent skills for connecting a Hermes gateway to a Buzz community and sending media attachments

In short

Buzz Skills is a small collection of three Hermes Agent skills for operating Hermes through Buzz, covering setup of a remote Hermes gateway as a native Buzz messaging agent, delivery of local media as Buzz attachments, and self-hosting a Buzz relay.

What Buzz Skills does

The repository contains three skills. hermes-in-buzz covers end-to-end setup and troubleshooting for a dedicated Hermes Agent running as a native Buzz messaging agent, including relay connectivity, a separate Nostr identity, owner-only access controls, Buzz CLI installation, NIP-OA attestation, gateway configuration and live inbound and outbound checks. buzz-media-attachments sends local files through the native buzz messages send --file flow when generic MEDIA:/path delivery is unavailable or unreliable, with MP4 fast-start and sanitization workflows plus a GIF fallback.

buzz-self-hosting guides an agent helping a user run and debug a self-hosted Buzz relay from the deploy/compose stack. It covers secrets, closed-relay membership, the localhost versus 127.0.0.1 404 trap, Windows and Git Bash pitfalls, backups and the limits of moving from hosted to self-hosted. A cross-platform script, update_buzz_credentials.py, reads keys with hidden input and updates the active profile's .env without taking secrets as command-line arguments. An optional Rust helper derives a public agent identity and creates owner attestations.
