Hermes Console

shan8851/hermes-console

Local-first, read-only web dashboard for inspecting a Hermes Agent setup from ~/.hermes

In short

Hermes Console is a local-first, read-only web dashboard that reads a Hermes Agent setup directly from disk. It shows runtime health, sessions, cron jobs, skills, memory, config, files, usage and logs, with no cloud service and no authentication.

What Hermes Console does

Hermes Console points at the Hermes state directory (~/.hermes by default, or the path in HERMES_CONSOLE_HERMES_DIR) and renders what it finds in a browser. The Overview page covers runtime health, gateway state, connected platforms, warnings and update drift. Other pages cover sessions with filtering and search, cron jobs with a calendar view and run health, installed skills, MEMORY.md and USER.md with pressure indicators, per-agent config.yaml, instruction file previews, token and cost usage with trend charts, and bounded log tails.

The README says plainly that it is not a chat client, a terminal replacement, a hosted SaaS or a generic multi-agent platform. Its API binds to 127.0.0.1, so it is local-only by default. Profiles under ~/.hermes/profiles are picked up automatically as separate agents, and an optional workspace root (HERMES_CONSOLE_WORKSPACE_DIR) lets the Files view preview project-level files such as AGENTS.md. Version 0.4.1 added display of newer cron metadata such as script-only jobs, workdir, context_from and per-job toolsets.

Key features

  • Overview of runtime health, gateway state and connected platforms
  • Session browser with filtering and search across agents
  • Cron view with calendar, run health and recent outputs
  • MEMORY.md and USER.md visibility with pressure indicators
  • Token counts, estimated cost and trend charts
  • Log tails with search, level filtering and opt-in auto-refresh

When to use it

  • Checking whether the gateway and connected platforms are healthy
  • Reviewing scheduled cron jobs and their recent outputs
  • Seeing how full MEMORY.md and USER.md are before they hit limits
  • Estimating token use and cost across Hermes sessions

Who it is for: People who run Hermes Agent locally and want one screen showing what is running, scheduled and stored without digging through files and CLI output.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Hermes Console is built for Hermes Agent and reads its state files, including multiple profiles under ~/.hermes/profiles, without modifying them.
