macOS menu-bar app for voice calls with coding agents including Hermes Agent, Claude Code and Codex
talktome is a macOS menu-bar app that lets you hold voice calls with the coding agents you already use, including Hermes Agent, Claude Code, Codex and OpenClaw.
What talktome does
talktome carries voice calls between you and coding agents. An agent can ring you through its call_user tool when it needs a decision or finishes a task. You can also call an agent from the menu bar to ask how work is going, join a session that is already running, and approve tool use by voice, for example whether to allow npm test. The agent keeps its own model, tools and files, and talktome only carries the call.
Agents can run on your Mac or on your own servers, which talktome reaches over SSH key authentication. Speech detection uses Silero and Smart Turn models bundled with the app, while transcription and speech output go through ElevenLabs, with the key stored in the macOS keychain. Nothing listens on the network, and your voice goes to ElevenLabs, not to your servers. First-run setup installs uv and talktome-server and adds talktome to each agent. For Hermes, the next step is hermes gateway restart.
