What Web Search Plus does

The plugin was ported from an earlier web-search-plus plugin to the Hermes Agent plugin API. It supports 15 search providers and 9 extraction providers, and one configured provider is enough to start. Automatic routing sends most queries to Brave, documentation and academic queries to Exa, and security and shopping queries to Serper. If a provider fails or returns nothing, the next one is tried. A quality report can show which service answered and why.

Setup is handled by a setup.py helper that asks for provider keys and stores them in the active Hermes environment file. For lower cost or more privacy there are SearXNG, Keenable and an optional DonSeTch provider, and a self-hosted preset that uses only SearXNG and keyless Keenable. Version 5.0.0 also searches in the language of the query when it is clearly German or French. The README warns that provider privacy terms differ and links a guide to check before sending sensitive queries.
