Hermes XBot

deggimatt/hermes-xbot

Native Android companion app and teammate cockpit for Hermes Agent, with streaming, approvals and voice

In short

Hermes XBot is a native Kotlin Android app for Hermes Agent and hermes-webui that presents specialised agents as selectable teammates with live tool telemetry and background task handoffs.

What Hermes XBot does

Hermes XBot connects an Android phone to a Hermes server through REST and server-sent-event APIs. A teammate hub lets you choose which agent to chat with (Default, Engineering, Research, Outreach or DevOps), each with an auto-generated avatar and an online or idle badge. Replies stream with automatic resume and replay, and tool activity appears as collapsible cards showing terminal output, Git diffs, browser previews and Python traces. Dangerous commands and clarifying questions arrive as one-tap approval prompts.

Mobile features include push-to-talk voice notes with server transcription and TTS playback, an Android share target for URLs, text and photos, and a foreground sync service that keeps streaming tasks running with the screen locked. A Room database caches sessions, messages and projects offline, and credentials are held in a hardware-backed encrypted keystore. Panels cover a Mnemosyne memory viewer, a scheduled cron manager and a Kanban mission board.
