Search Claude Code, OpenCode and Hermes conversation history by content, then resume any session
claude-grep is a small CLI, run as ccfind, that searches the full text of your Claude Code conversations and also covers OpenCode and Hermes sessions, then resumes the one you pick.
What claude-grep does
claude-grep exists because claude --resume matches only a session's title, and history is split per working directory. The ccfind command searches the transcript body of every conversation under ~/.claude/projects/, including your prompts, Claude's replies and tool results, and shows one row per resumable conversation, newest first. Results refresh as you type, Enter resumes the selected session, and Ctrl-U or --user-only restricts matching to text you typed yourself.
There is no index and nothing runs in the background: ripgrep narrows thousands of transcripts to candidates and only those files are parsed in Python. Sub-agent transcripts are resolved to their parent session so they can be resumed. If OpenCode or Hermes is installed, ccfind detects it and searches those histories from the same interface, tagging each row [c] for Claude Code, [h] for Hermes or [o] for OpenCode. Hermes sessions are read from ~/.hermes/sessions/ and the per-profile session folders, and Enter routes to the matching agent's resume command, such as hermes --resume.
Key features
- Full-text search across Claude Code transcripts, not just session titles
- Live fzf interface with a user-only mode toggled by Ctrl-U
- No index and no background process
- Searches Hermes sessions under ~/.hermes/sessions/ and profile folders
- Rows tagged by source: [c] Claude Code, [h] Hermes, [o] OpenCode
- Resolves sub-agent transcripts to their parent session
When to use it
- Finding an old Hermes session by something said halfway through it
- Resuming a past Claude Code conversation from any working directory
- Searching only your own prompts when AI replies drown out the match
Who it is for: Developers who use Claude Code, and optionally OpenCode or Hermes, and want to find and resume past sessions by content.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Hermes support is an optional extra: when Hermes is installed, ccfind includes its session history and resumes chosen sessions with hermes --resume.
