Local search, stats and trajectory analysis over coding-agent sessions, including Hermes
rogrep is a local Rust command-line tool for searching and analyzing coding-agent session history, with support for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok, Hermes and opencode.
What rogrep does
rogrep indexes every coding-agent rollout on your machine and answers questions about them from a single Rust binary built on tantivy full-text search and SQLite statistics. Example queries in the README find which conversations led to a pull request with rogrep trajectory --pr 48, which sessions had failing cargo runs, and the most expensive request of the week with rogrep stats top --by tokens --since 7d.
Everything is local, with no daemon, telemetry or outbound network access. The optional web command starts an explicitly requested listener on 127.0.0.1:4747. The index lives in ~/.local/share/rogrep, refreshes incrementally at the start of every command and can be deleted and rebuilt. The data model has conversations, exchanges (one user prompt plus everything the agent did in response) and turns. Commands include search, x, find, show, git, trajectory, ls, stats, doctor, tui and web, and rogrep skill install teaches local agents to use it.
Key features
- Indexes Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok, Hermes and opencode sessions
- Full-text search with a query grammar for tool status and commands
- Trajectory view linking a PR, branch or commit to the conversations behind it
- Usage statistics such as the most expensive requests by tokens
- Terminal UI and a local web workbench
- No daemon, telemetry or outbound network access
When to use it
- Finding which Hermes session produced a particular change
- Reviewing token spend across all your coding agents this week
- Locating every session where a build or test command failed
Who it is for: Developers who use several coding agents and want private, local search and analytics over their session history.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Hermes is one of six agent providers whose on-disk sessions rogrep discovers and indexes alongside Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok and opencode.

FAQ
What is rogrep?
rogrep is a local command-line tool for searching and analyzing coding-agent sessions. It indexes rollouts from several agents and offers search, statistics and trajectory analysis.
Does rogrep work with Hermes Agent?
Yes. Hermes is one of the six providers rogrep indexes, together with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok and opencode, and rogrep doctor shows what was discovered per provider.
How do I install rogrep?
Clone the repository and run ./scripts/install.sh, which builds a release binary into ~/.local/bin. You can also run cargo install --path crates/rogrep, then rogrep sync to build the index.
