Virtual AI development team framework with a specification-driven workflow from PRD to system test
SpecCrew is an embedded framework that gives a software project a virtual AI development team and a specification-driven workflow. The repository is tagged hermes-agent, though the opening part of the README does not describe a Hermes-specific setup.
What SpecCrew does
SpecCrew turns a software engineering process into reusable agent workflows: PRD, Feature Design, API Contract, System Design, Dev, Deployment and System Test. It defines seven agent roles (Team Leader, Product Manager, Feature Designer, System Designer, System Developer, Test Manager and Task Worker) and more than 30 skills. Each stage needs human confirmation before the next begins, and agents work from todo lists and self-check when done.
A three-level knowledge base keeps agents grounded in project facts: system technology, business modules and per-iteration artifacts. A four-stage pipeline scans source code, analyzes modules in parallel and aggregates a system overview, with full or incremental sync based on git diff. Each requirement gets its own iteration directory, archived when finished, and large tasks are split across sub-agents with isolated context. Modeling follows the ISA-95 method. The README is in Chinese with links to translations.
Key features
- Seven agent roles and more than 30 skills
- Staged workflow from PRD to system test with human confirmation
- Three-level knowledge base
- Knowledge generated from source code, with incremental sync
- One iteration directory per requirement
- Sub-agent delegation for large tasks
When to use it
- Adding a structured spec-first process to an existing codebase
- Generating project documentation from source code
- Keeping agent skills and docs in git so a team shares them
Who it is for: Development teams that want a spec-driven, multi-role AI workflow on an existing project.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
The repository is tagged hermes-agent among other agent topics, but the opening part of the README describes agents and skills generally rather than Hermes-specific installation.
