What Hermes Desktop Achievements does

The page shows a score header with earned and discovered counts, tier filters, progress bars, a Rescan button, a Next up strip of the locked achievements closest to completion, a chronological history timeline and per-session badges. A watcher polls the achievements endpoint every 15 seconds, compares it with a stored set of known earned badges, and fires a toast, haptic, chime and confetti for new ones. The first load seeds a baseline, so restarts never replay old notifications.

Extras include tier-specific sounds, an optional Discord webhook that announces earned badges and milestones, custom personal badges, a bigger celebration at every 10th badge, weekly mini-stats, Markdown or JSON export, and 1200 by 630 PNG share cards. There is no new backend: the plugin talks to /api/plugins/hermes-achievements/ on hermes serve. The whole plugin is a single plain ESM file, plugin.js, and the app hot-reloads it when you save.
