In short

agent-purge is a Node CLI that replaces, appends or clears the system prompt of several coding agents from one persona file. Hermes is among the supported agents, and a local web console shows status.

What agent-purge does

Each coding agent reads its system prompt from a different place: a launch flag, a config file or a runtime plugin. agent-purge writes one persona from personas/*.md through three channels. The install channel writes a managed config block, the shim channel puts a wrapper ahead of the real command on PATH, and the slash channel toggles /purge on, off or status inside a session.

There are three modes: replace, append and off. Turning off or running uninstall restores the original state. Running agent-purge web opens a console at http://127.0.0.1:7788 that shows which harnesses are installed, their versions and channel availability. The description lists codex, claude, opencode, grok, omp, hermes, pi and zcode. Closed-source desktop apps are only launched unmodified. State stays in a local state.json, and nothing is uploaded.
