SDKs and agent plugins for the Synadia Agent Protocol, putting agents such as Hermes on NATS

In short

Synadia Agents is a repository of TypeScript and Python SDKs and ready-made agent plugins for the Synadia Agent Protocol for NATS. It lets agents including Hermes register as a NATS micro service named agents, so callers can discover, prompt and stream from them.

What Synadia Agents does

Synadia Agents is the home of the official caller and host SDKs for the Synadia Agent Protocol for NATS, in TypeScript and Python. Under the protocol, an AI agent such as Codex, OpenCode, Claude Code, OpenClaw, PI or Hermes registers itself as a NATS micro service named agents. Any caller that speaks the same wire format can then discover it, send prompts and stream responses. Subjects follow the pattern agents.{verb}.{token}.{owner}.{session}, where the verb is prompt, hb or status.

The repository also includes pre-built channel plugins that put existing harnesses on NATS without writing code, each serving the protocol's prompt, status and heartbeat endpoints. Listed targets include Claude Code, OpenClaw, PI, Codex, OpenCode, DeerFlow, Flue, Eve, Grok Build and a generic ACP channel. The Hermes entry is marked work in progress and points to an upstream fork. A caller SDK discovers and prompts agents, a host SDK registers and serves a new agent, and an examples folder holds a browser UI and from-scratch DSPy agents.

Key features

  • Caller SDKs in TypeScript and Python for discovering and prompting agents
  • Host SDKs in TypeScript and Python for serving a new agent
  • Channel plugins for Claude Code, OpenClaw, PI, Codex, OpenCode and others
  • Hermes channel listed as a work in progress
  • Verb-first NATS subjects for prompt, heartbeat and status
  • End-to-end examples including a browser UI and DSPy agents

When to use it

  • Reaching a Hermes agent from other services over NATS
  • Building a caller that discovers and prompts several agents on one NATS network
  • Hosting a custom agent that speaks the same protocol

Who it is for: Developers who run agents on NATS or want to connect different coding agents over one wire protocol.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Supports Hermes among many agents through a channel entry that is marked work in progress and points to an upstream fork.
