Read-only Dashboard and Desktop plugin for inspecting Hermes Agent memory and external memory providers
Hermes Memory UI is a read-only plugin for the Hermes Dashboard and Hermes Desktop that lets you inspect built-in memory, session history and external memory providers.
What Hermes Memory UI does
The plugin adds a memory view covering the built-in MEMORY.md and USER.md files, read-only search over earlier Hermes sessions through the session_search tool (optionally filtered by CLI, Telegram, cron, Discord, web or API), and sections for external providers: Holographic, Mem0, Honcho, Mnemosyne, Hindsight and ByteRover. Provider sections appear only when that provider is configured.
It is read-only on purpose. Writes should go through the Hermes memory and fact_store tools or provider classes so that validation, locking, mirroring, FTS, HRR vectors and memory-bank maintenance are preserved. The Dashboard and Desktop interfaces are separate artifacts that share one profile-aware Python backend served under /api/plugins/hermes-memory-ui/. The Desktop plugin registers a /memory page, a Memory sidebar item and an Open Memory command, and must be enabled separately from the backend.
Key features
- Built-in memory view for MEMORY.md and USER.md
- Read-only session search with optional source filter
- Holographic, Mem0, Honcho, Mnemosyne, Hindsight and ByteRover provider views
- Separate Dashboard and Desktop interfaces on a shared backend
- Profile-aware, with named profiles under ~/.hermes/profiles
When to use it
- Checking what an agent has stored in MEMORY.md and USER.md without opening files
- Comparing facts held by an external memory provider with what the agent recalls
- Reviewing older sessions from Telegram, cron or the CLI in one place
Who it is for: Hermes Agent users who rely on persistent or external memory and want to see what is stored without risking edits.

FAQ
What is Hermes Memory UI?
Hermes Memory UI is a read-only Hermes Agent plugin that shows built-in memory, session search results and external memory providers inside the Hermes Dashboard and Hermes Desktop.
How do I install Hermes Memory UI?
Run hermes plugins install xraysight/hermes-memory-ui --enable to install the shared backend and the Dashboard interface. For the Desktop interface, the README also has you copy desktop/plugin.js into the desktop-plugins folder under your Hermes home and enable it in Settings, Plugins.
Can Hermes Memory UI edit or delete memories?
No. The plugin never adds, edits, replaces or removes memories. The README says writes should go through the Hermes memory and fact_store tools so validation and locking stay intact.
