OpenCode Usage Meter

Vocllum/opencode-usage-meter

Hermes Desktop status-bar plugin that shows live OpenCode usage windows and reset times

In short

OpenCode Usage Meter is a Hermes Agent Desktop plugin that puts a status-bar chip showing remaining OpenCode usage, with a popover for rolling, weekly and monthly windows and their reset times.

What OpenCode Usage Meter does

The chip shows the OpenCode brand mark and the current remaining percentage. Clicking it opens a popover with Rolling, Weekly and Monthly windows, each listing used percentage, remaining percentage and reset time. The backend calls https://opencode.ai/zen/go/v1/usage with your API key, using a browser User-Agent because the endpoint sits behind Cloudflare and rejects other clients with HTTP 403. Usage is account-wide, so Zen and Go keys return identical numbers and the popover shows one set of windows labeled GO.

Results are cached in memory for 45 seconds with a 20 second request timeout, and there are no background polling loops. On any error the chip shows a dash and the popover says data is unavailable, rather than showing invented numbers. The key is read from ~/.hermes/.env at request time and is never stored or logged, and the plugin contacts only opencode.ai, with no telemetry. The interface follows the Desktop language, detecting zh-CN and defaulting to English. The author says it was inspired by codex-usage-meter, the Codex counterpart for the same status bar.

Key features

  • Status-bar chip with the current remaining OpenCode percentage
  • Popover with Rolling, Weekly and Monthly windows and reset times
  • 45 second in-memory cache and a 20 second request timeout
  • Fails closed: shows a dash and an unavailable message instead of fake numbers
  • Reads the key from ~/.hermes/.env without storing or logging it
  • Interface language follows Hermes Desktop, with zh-CN detection

When to use it

  • Checking how much of your OpenCode Go quota is left without leaving Hermes Desktop
  • Seeing when the rolling, weekly or monthly window resets before starting a long task
  • Monitoring usage on an account shared between Zen and Go keys

Who it is for: Hermes Agent Desktop users who pay for OpenCode Go or Zen and want their limits visible in the status bar.
