What Hermes WeChat Adapter does

Hermes supports Telegram, Discord and Slack natively but not WeChat, and this project fills that gap. A 1,488-line Python adapter, weixin.py, long-polls the iLink Bot API getUpdates endpoint with a 35-second timeout, parses text, images, voice, files and quoted messages, hands them to the Hermes gateway as message events, and sends replies back with sendMessage. Media travels through an encrypted CDN using AES-128-ECB, which the adapter decrypts. Login is by a QR code shown in the terminal, and context tokens are saved to disk so sessions recover after a restart.

Access control offers open, allowlist and pairing DM policies, long messages are split into 4,000-character segments, and duplicate messages are filtered. The README lists limits: Markdown is stripped to plain text, voice cannot be sent, stickers and Moments are unsupported, only one account works at a time, and group chat routing is incomplete.
