Hermes skill that saves links from chat channels as categorized unread bookmarks
link-bookmark is a Hermes Agent skill that stores links shared in chat channels such as Slack, Discord and Telegram as categorized unread bookmarks in JSON files.
What link-bookmark does
link-bookmark keeps one JSON file per channel or project, usually named after the Slack channel ID, under ~/.hermes/link_bookmarks/. Each item has a stable internal id, a status of unread or read, a category, title, URL, source type, date, summary and key points. When asked, the skill lists only unread items grouped by category and renumbers them from 1 each time, while the internal ids are never renumbered so marking items as read stays reliable.
Users talk to Hermes in plain language, in Korean or English, for example asking it to show the bookmarks, add a link or mark items 1 and 3 as read. An optional helper script, scripts/link_bookmark.py, offers show, add and mark-read commands with a Korean or English output locale. Showing bookmarks never marks them read. The skill works from messages passed to Hermes or links the user supplies, and it does not read Slack or Discord history, so no history API is needed.
Key features
- One JSON file per channel or project
- Shows only unread links, grouped by category
- Display numbers restart at 1 while internal ids stay stable
- Marks items read only when explicitly asked
- Korean and English bookmark workflows
- Optional helper script with show, add and mark-read commands
When to use it
- Collecting links posted in a team Slack channel into a reading list
- Asking Hermes which saved links are still unread
- Migrating an earlier link-report file layout, which the README says uses a compatible schema
Who it is for: Hermes Agent users who share many links in chat channels and want an unread reading list.
