JARVIS

Windows heads-up display and voice interface for a Hermes agent running on your own VPS

In short

JARVIS is a Windows desktop client built with Flutter that gives a Hermes Agent on a remote VPS a heads-up display and a voice interface. It shows live server and agent state and lets you drive long agent tasks by keyboard or speech.

What JARVIS does

JARVIS is a local-first Windows client for a Hermes Agent that runs on your own Linux VPS. It connects to Hermes through its API server, reached over an SSH local forward so the API stays bound to loopback, and it reads machine state from /proc over the SSH session you already have. Nothing is installed on the server beyond Hermes's own API server setting.

The panels cover CPU, memory, disk, load, network, processes, files, the schedule from crontab and systemd timers, running subagents, and a terminal view of tool call arguments and output. A reading that cannot be taken shows a dash instead of mock data. Voice runs through a Python sidecar: wake word, transcription and speech synthesis happen on the device, and Hermes only receives the final text. One multilingual speech model handles English and Jordanian Arabic. Several agent runs can go at once, and a task that outlives the app is picked up on the next launch from its server-side transcript.

Key features

  • Live panels for CPU, memory, disk, load, uptime, network, processes, files and schedule, read from /proc over SSH
  • On-device wake word, transcription and speech synthesis through a Python voice sidecar
  • Concurrent agent runs threaded onto one conversation, each with its own window and roster
  • Run handoff that resumes a task from its server-side transcript after the app restarts
  • One speech model for English and Jordanian Arabic with script-aware voice selection
  • Terminal panel showing tool call arguments and tool output verbatim

When to use it

  • Monitoring a VPS-hosted Hermes agent's CPU, processes and cron jobs from a Windows desktop
  • Giving voice commands to a remote Hermes agent without sending audio off the machine
  • Running several agent tasks in parallel and following each in its own window

Who it is for: Hermes Agent users who host their agent on a Linux VPS and work from a Windows PC.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Built for Hermes Agent: it talks to the Hermes API server and reads its subagent events and session API.

Requirements: Windows 10 or 11, Flutter SDK 3.12 or higher with the Windows desktop toolchain, Python 3.12 or higher for the voice sidecar, and a Linux VPS reachable over SSH running Hermes with its API server enabled
