What Hermes Business Agent does

The repository holds the files from the author's Python Simplified Hermes Agent tutorial, plus templates you can adapt to your own business. The goal is a customer service agent that learns your business rules, locations, pricing, opening hours and policies, talks to real customers on Telegram, follows a custom personality, keeps customer and administrator permissions separate, uses Python for tasks that do not need AI, reviews customer interactions to send automated daily reports, and flags situations that need a human.

The repository contains agent-knowledge/ with the business files for DragonDash Delivery, a fictional delivery company, scripts/daily_report.py and a SOUL.md. Business knowledge lives as Markdown files in /opt/data/agent-knowledge/, which the SOUL.md template tells the agent to read before answering factual questions. The template forbids inventing prices, policies or hours, rules out web search for internal company information, and says to tell the customer a human will follow up when the answer is missing. To adapt it, replace the agent name, business name and optional context placeholders.
