Holix

javded-itres/Holix

Self-improving terminal agent with memory, skills, MCP and a skill hub that reads Hermes catalogs

In short

Holix is an independent self-improving AI agent for the terminal and Telegram with persistent memory, skills and MCP support. Its skill hub can browse Hermes catalogs, which is its link to the Hermes Agent ecosystem.

What Holix does

Holix is an independent self-improving agent written in Python. It combines tool calling for files, shell, web and code execution, persistent memory built on SQLite conversations with ChromaDB semantic search, markdown skills that can be auto-generated, and per-agent assignment of Model Context Protocol servers. Providers include Ollama, LiteLLM, OpenAI, Groq and any OpenAI-compatible API.

It runs from the terminal with holix tui, holix chat-command and holix run, and a gateway serves Telegram and MAX. Its skill hub reads catalogs from ClawHub, Hermes and Claude plugins, which is the connection to the Hermes Agent ecosystem. Security settings include API keys, rate limits, a command whitelist and confirmation prompts, and holix doctor and holix logs help with operations. Studio CE is a separate single-user local IDE, and a hosted Studio for teams is offered separately. Documentation exists in English and Russian.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Holix is a separate agent rather than a Hermes add-on; the README names Hermes as one of the skill hub catalogs it can read.

How to install Holix

These commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository for the latest steps before you run them.

pipx install Holix
holix models setup
holix tui

Requirements: Python 3.12+ for the PyPI install

Note: Holix is a separate agent with its own CLI; the Hermes connection is limited to reading Hermes skill catalogs.
