Voice-first ADHD productivity assistant built as a mesh of Hermes agents behind a FastAPI hub

In short

Buddy is a voice-first productivity assistant for people with ADHD, built as a network of small Hermes agents behind one hub. You reach it by phone call or Telegram voice note, and it captures tasks, holds the plan and nudges without shaming missed items.

What Buddy does

Buddy runs on local hardware, a Mac mini in the README's example, around a FastAPI hub on port 8484 that keeps an agent registry, routing, a dashboard and a memory API. Behind it sit single-purpose agents: a Bookkeeper that acts as the user's memory, a Browser agent that drives a real stealth browser in a Docker container you can watch through noVNC, and an Orchestrator that routes multi-step build requests to a planner and builder. Every agent speaks one small contract, POST /ask with a message and a reply.

Each specialist is its own Hermes instance and profile with a SOUL.md persona, its own tools and its own agent loop. The Python service is only a thin forwarder to the Hermes runtime. Agents collaborate through MCP tools: agent_bridge lets one agent list and ask the others, browser_tools gives web search and page opening, and memory_tools gives remember, recall and complete. A Toolsmith agent can create simple HTTP-GET MCP tools. The voice front end is an ElevenLabs conversational agent.

Key features

  • Hub with agent registry, routing, dashboard and memory API
  • Bookkeeper, Browser and Orchestrator agents, each a Hermes profile
  • agent_bridge MCP tools so agents can ask each other
  • Watchable stealth browser container with noVNC
  • Toolsmith agent that forges small HTTP-GET MCP tools
  • Live agent graph dashboard

When to use it

  • Capturing tasks by voice and getting reminders at the moment action is needed
  • Studying a multi-agent design where each agent is a separate Hermes profile
  • Delegating web lookups from a memory agent to a browser agent

Who it is for: People with ADHD looking for a voice-based assistant, and developers who want a worked example of a Hermes agent mesh.

How it fits with Hermes Agent
