What plan_follow does

Hermes ships with todo and basic task tracking. plan_follow adds template-based plans in which the agent sees only the current task. Tasks can depend on one another, run in parallel groups that execute in sequence, and carry due dates that raise banner warnings when soon or overdue. Completing a task can run its verify command and make a git commit, and each verify checks the git diff against the task's scope to detect drift.

Review gates offer six profiles: none, unit-test, api-route, ui-component, security and full, using an independent reviewer subagent pattern. Git tools cover branches, commits, stash, tags, history, sync and pull requests, with PR creation through the Forgejo API. Cross-session tools handle locks, notifications and an overview of active sessions. Plans can be archived and restored, validated for integrity, and versioned in a git repository under ~/.hermes/plans/. Quick-start calls include plan_create, plan_current, plan_complete and plan_review.
