Desktop app that runs Hermes Agent, Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents in tabbed sessions
MonoCode is a desktop UI for coding agents that can run Hermes Agent alongside Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and others. It uses the agents you have already installed and logged in, and it does not sell tokens.
What MonoCode does
MonoCode is a desktop application that puts command-line coding agents in one window. Each tab is a session, and the composer is the input. It works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok Build, OpenCode, Antigravity, Pi, omp, fx, Hermes Agent and Devin, provided the agent is installed and logged in. For Hermes Agent, the README gives the official install script for macOS, Linux and Windows PowerShell, then says to run hermes model.
Typing /operator at the start of a composer message gives that thread access to MonoCode itself through a local app CLI, so an agent can, for example, start other agent sessions or list notes. Experimental remote sessions let agents run on an always-on Windows, Linux or macOS machine while you connect from the desktop. Builds exist for macOS on Apple Silicon and Intel, Linux (.deb, .rpm and AppImage) and Windows x86_64. The README warns that the project is very early.
Key features
- Tabs act as sessions, with a single composer as the input
- Runs Hermes Agent, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok Build, OpenCode, Antigravity, Pi, omp, fx and Devin
- Reuses your existing agent logins and subscriptions; MonoCode does not sell tokens
- /operator command lets an agent in that thread start sessions or list notes through a local app CLI
- Experimental remote sessions on an always-on machine
- Installers for macOS, Linux (.deb, .rpm, AppImage) and Windows
When to use it
- Switch between Hermes Agent and Claude Code inside one desktop window
- Run several agent sessions side by side in separate tabs
- Keep agents running on an always-on machine and connect to them from a laptop
Who it is for: Developers who use more than one command-line coding agent and want a single desktop front end.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Hermes Agent is one of eleven supported agents, and MonoCode can run it once it is installed and set up with hermes model.
Requirements: At least one supported coding agent installed and logged in; the Linux AppImage needs WebKitGTK 4.1 on the host
Note: The README says the project is very early and users should expect bugs.
