Standalone Hermes plugin that adds Jina Reader as a web_extract provider, with optional proxy support
Hermes Jina Web Extract is a standalone Hermes Agent plugin that registers a jina provider for the web_extract tool. It fetches clean page content through Jina Reader and works without an API key.
What Hermes Jina Web Extract does
The plugin calls https://r.jina.ai/ with the target URL and supports keyless Reader access, an optional JINA_API_KEY for higher limits, JavaScript-capable browser extraction, JSON transport, selector waiting, configurable user agents and Jina cache headers. It uses Hermes' public WebSearchProvider and plugin registration APIs, so it does not patch Hermes core or change the built-in web tools or cache. It can live as a normal Git repository under ~/.hermes/plugins/web/jina/.
Settings sit under plugins.entries in the profile config, including timeout, browser_engine, wait_for, user_agent_mode, target_selector, remove_selector, with_generated_alt, no_cache and cache_tolerance. The backend is chosen with web.extract_backend set to jina. A proxy can be set with JINA_SOCKS5_PROXY or JINA_HTTP_PROXY, but not both, or the plugin fails closed. The proxy URL is sent to Jina in an X-Proxy-Url header over HTTPS, so Jina can read it. The README advises using dedicated proxy credentials.
