Native iOS and Android client for Open WebUI, OpenAI-compatible endpoints, Ollama and Hermes agents
Conduit is a native Flutter mobile app for iOS and Android that connects to a self-hosted Hermes Agent server, Open WebUI or direct model endpoints. For Hermes Agent users it puts live tool activity, approvals and scheduled agents on a phone.
What Conduit does
Conduit began as a mobile client for Open WebUI and, as of version 4.0, works with or without an Open WebUI server. On first launch it asks how you want to connect: Open WebUI, a direct OpenAI-compatible, Ollama or OpenRouter endpoint, Apple on-device or Private Cloud Compute models on eligible iOS devices, or a Hermes server. Chats live on the device first, and the README says nothing routes through a backend the maintainer operates.
In Hermes mode the app connects to your own Hermes server. You can watch its tools run live, approve sensitive steps before they execute and let scheduled agents run unattended. Conversations and schedules get their own tab, and Conduit only exposes the capabilities your server reports. The interface uses native Flutter surfaces rather than a web view, streams tokens over WebSocket, and adds voice input, home screen widgets and 14 interface languages.
Key features
- Hermes mode with live tool view and approval before sensitive steps
- Separate tab for Hermes conversations and schedules
- Direct connections to OpenAI-compatible endpoints, Ollama, LM Studio and OpenRouter
- Token-by-token streaming over WebSocket
- Voice input and voice-call mode
- Home screen widgets, share-sheet ingestion and 14 locales
When to use it
- Approving a self-hosted Hermes agent's sensitive steps from a phone
- Checking on scheduled Hermes agents while away from your desk
- Using one mobile app for Hermes, Open WebUI and local model chats
Who it is for: People who self-host Hermes Agent, Open WebUI or Ollama and want a native phone app to reach them.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Hermes Agent is one of Conduit's connection modes, alongside Open WebUI and direct model endpoints. The app talks to your own Hermes server rather than a hosted service.
Requirements: A self-hosted Hermes server for Hermes mode, or an Open WebUI server or model endpoint for the other modes
