Hermes skill for end-of-session cleanup that syncs docs, memory and reusable skills

In short

hermes-neat-freak is a Hermes Agent skill that, at the end of a work phase, checks and syncs project docs, Hermes memory, reusable skills and cross-session context so they match the real code.

What hermes-neat-freak does

The skill adapts the neat-freak idea of acting as an editor rather than a recorder to Hermes Agent's own knowledge mechanisms. It sorts what changed into stable facts for memory, reusable procedures for skill_manage, and past task history for session_search, and keeps AGENTS.md, README.md and website docs aligned. It enumerates project documents, reviews the current and related past sessions, corrects drift, and prints a short sync summary.

It adds Hermes-specific rules: the main skill directory is ~/.hermes/skills/, skills.external_dirs are best treated as read-only discovery sources, and high-risk external writes such as bulk database changes or live config edits must not be recorded as done without confirmation. Triggers include sync up, /neat and Chinese phrases such as 收尾一下. The repository holds SKILL.md plus references/agent-paths.md and references/sync-matrix.md, which map code changes to the docs, memory and skills that should follow.

Key features

  • Separates stable facts (memory), reusable procedures (skill_manage) and history (session_search)
  • Reviews AGENTS.md, README.md, docs and scattered markdown files for drift
  • Includes session_search in the wrap-up to reduce repeated explanations
  • Rule against marking high-risk external writes as done without confirmation
  • Reference files for agent paths and a code-change sync matrix

When to use it

  • Closing out a development, debugging or refactoring session
  • Keeping docs, memory and skills consistent after a platform integration
  • Cleaning up knowledge in long-running projects that span many sessions

Who it is for: Hermes users who maintain long-running projects and want their docs, memory and skills kept in sync.
