Awesome Hermes EVA Skins

Chael-Chael/awesome-hermes-eva-skins

EVA-style Hermes CLI skins with pixel fonts and a retro CRT shader setup for Windows Terminal

In short

Awesome Hermes EVA Skins is a set of four EVA and NERV styled skins for the Hermes Agent CLI, bundled with a retro CRT configuration for Windows Terminal. It includes pixel fonts, HLSL shaders and a PowerShell installer.

What Awesome Hermes EVA Skins does

Awesome Hermes EVA Skins is a collection of four Hermes Agent skins in an EVA and NERV control-room style: eva-00, eva-01, eva-02 and eva-nerv, each a YAML file for the Hermes CLI. The repository pairs them with a Windows Terminal setup that gives the terminal a retro CRT look, using Ark Pixel fonts, two HLSL pixel shaders and ready-made profile and color-scheme snippets.

The two shaders trade style for legibility. The amber one maps most colors to amber with CRT glow and suits screenshots and recordings, while the readable one keeps more of the original hues for long sessions with code and logs. A PowerShell script installs the fonts, skins, shaders and profiles for the current user without administrator rights, offers a dry run, and backs up the Windows Terminal settings.json before changing it. A browser tool, braille-studio.html, converts images to colored braille.

Key features

  • Four Hermes CLI skins: eva-00, eva-01, eva-02 and eva-nerv
  • Two Windows Terminal HLSL shaders, one amber and one more readable
  • Bundled Ark Pixel 12px monospaced fonts
  • PowerShell installer with a -DryRun option and a settings.json backup
  • Windows Terminal profile, color scheme and optional Shift+F10 and Shift+F11 keybinding snippets
  • Browser-based braille-studio.html for converting images to colored braille

When to use it

  • Giving the Hermes terminal a NERV-style look for screenshots and screen recordings
  • Using the readable shader profile for daily Hermes sessions on Windows Terminal
  • Starting your own Hermes skin from the included YAML files

Who it is for: Windows users who run the Hermes Agent CLI and want a retro, EVA-inspired terminal theme.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Built for the Hermes CLI: the skins are Hermes skin YAML files that you activate with the /skin command, and the installer copies them into the Hermes skin directory.

How to install Awesome Hermes EVA Skins

These commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository for the latest steps before you run them.

git clone https://github.com/Chael-Chael/awesome-hermes-eva-skins.git
cd awesome-hermes-eva-skins
powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\scripts\install-windows.ps1 -DryRun
powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\scripts\install-windows.ps1

Requirements: Hermes Agent, a Windows Terminal version that supports experimental.pixelShaderPath, the bundled Ark Pixel fonts installed locally, and UTF-8 file encoding

Note: The shader and installer parts target Windows Terminal on Windows; the skin YAML files are the only part meant for the Hermes CLI itself.
