Token Optimizer

Audits wasted tokens in AI coding agents, saves work across compaction, and includes a Hermes installer
Token Optimizer is a plugin that cuts the tokens AI coding assistants waste, keeps work alive across sessions and compactions, and shows spending on a live dashboard. Hermes is one of its supported platforms, with its own install option.
What Token Optimizer does
Token Optimizer works through hooks that run in the background after a one-time setup and audit. It targets waste beyond command output: bloated configs, unused skills, stale memory, compaction loss, model misrouting and behavioral waste. It also saves checkpoints so work survives context compaction, scores context quality, and updates a dashboard after every session to show where spend went.
The README lists support for Claude Code (CLI and VS Code), OpenCode, OpenClaw, Codex, Hermes, GitHub Copilot, Pi Coding Agent, Cursor, Google Antigravity (beta) and Grok Build (beta). Each platform has its own install section. The Hermes path clones the repository and runs install.sh with a --hermes flag, and a hermes/README.md in the repository covers the details. The repository also carries a hermes-plugin topic.
Key features
- Audit that finds unused skills, bloated configs and stale memory
- Hooks for compression, checkpoints and quality scoring that run automatically
- Checkpoints that preserve work across context compaction
- Live dashboard updated after every session
- Separate install paths for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, OpenClaw, Hermes, Pi and Copilot
When to use it
- Add context-waste tracking to a Hermes install
- Keep long agent sessions usable after context compaction
- See per-session spend across several coding agents
Who it is for: Developers who run AI coding agents in long sessions and want to cut token waste and track cost.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Hermes is a supported platform with a dedicated install flag, --hermes, and its own README in the repository.
