Flat dark and light themes that tone down the Hermes Agent dashboard's stylized look
Hermes Dashboard Themes is a pair of YAML themes, boring-dark and boring-light, for the Hermes Agent web dashboard. They remove the default teal tint, grain, vignette glow and display fonts in favor of flat palettes and system typography.
What Hermes Dashboard Themes does
Hermes Agent loads user themes from ~/.hermes/dashboard-themes/*.yaml, and this repository supplies two of them. boring-dark is a flat, silent dark theme described as GitHub-adjacent, and boring-light is a flat, neutral light theme. Both drop the teal tint, noise and grain, vignette glow and artsy display fonts, and use cleaner system UI typography. No plugin is required and no Hermes source code is modified.
The themes work by overriding the dashboard palette, typography tokens, backdrop blend modes, filler image opacity and vignette or glow layers, plus display-font utility classes through customCSS. Once the YAML files are in place they appear in the dashboard's Switch theme menu next to the built-in themes, and a default can be set with hermes config set display.dashboard_theme. An install script handles the copy step, and the README suggests sharing further themes as plain YAML files in a GitHub repo or gist.
