Hermes Quota

rarf/hermes-quota-plugin

Per-provider quota, rate limits and reset times in Hermes Desktop and the CLI, read from a local cache

In short

Hermes Quota is a Hermes plugin that shows per-provider usage, quota windows, reset times and account balances in Hermes Desktop and the CLI without adding network calls to each UI render.

What Hermes Quota does

The plugin offers a status-bar chip, a docked pane, a /quota command and a hermes quota CLI. All of them read from a local cache, so the interface makes no network calls on each render, and hermes quota refresh updates the data. It shows model-specific quota windows and reset times when the vendor supplies them, and reports unavailable states plainly instead of guessing.

Additional Claude accounts are configured explicitly by directory and display label, such as Work or Personal, and appear as separate cards with no summed or invented allowances. Extra Claude accounts are opt-in and read-only: no refresh-token exchange, no credential write-back and no tokens in the display cache. Other providers may use opt-in browser or OS credential-store reads, which docs/providers.md discloses. The README notes that Python plugins are trusted host code, not sandboxed. On remote Desktop setups the widget goes on the computer running the app and the backend on the gateway.

Key features

  • Status-bar chip and docked pane with per-provider usage
  • /quota command and hermes quota CLI with refresh and status
  • Model-specific quota windows and reset times when vendors supply them
  • Separate, configurable cards for multiple Claude accounts
  • Local cache feeds the UI, so rendering makes no network calls

When to use it

  • Checking how much quota remains for each model provider before starting a long Hermes session
  • Tracking a work and a personal Claude account side by side
  • Seeing when a rate limit resets without leaving Hermes Desktop

Who it is for: Hermes Desktop and CLI users who work across several model providers and want to watch their limits.
