What Hermes Paperclip Adapter does

In Paperclip, agents work as managed employees in a company. This adapter registers a hermes_local adapter type in a Paperclip server, so a Hermes Agent can be created from the Paperclip UI or API and assigned issues. On each heartbeat Hermes receives the task, uses its tools to complete it, reports results back to Paperclip and persists session state for continuity.

The adapter parses raw Hermes output into typed transcript entries so Paperclip can render tool cards, converts Hermes ASCII banners and table borders into GitHub-flavored Markdown, and wakes agents on issue comments as well as assignments. It supports eight providers (Anthropic, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Nous, OpenAI Codex, ZAI, Kimi Coding and MiniMax), scans both Paperclip-managed and native Hermes skills, detects the configured model from ~/.hermes/config.yaml, and offers optional filesystem checkpoints for rollback.
