Archived plugin that turns Hermes profiles into named bots; now bundled in Hermes Desktop
Hermes Bot Mode is an archived Hermes Desktop plugin that turns agent profiles into a roster of named bots, each with its own chat, avatar, routines and bot-to-bot messaging. As of hermes-agent pull request 87886 it ships built into Hermes Desktop.
What Hermes Bot Mode does
Bot Mode adds a Bots pane with one row per agent profile, showing an avatar and the latest message. Each bot has its own chat, personality through SOUL.md, and schedule. You can create a bot with a name, title and description, and an Advanced section opens the full profile config: cloning a profile, pinning a provider and model, writing a custom SOUL.md and skipping bundled skills. Bots can be grouped, duplicated and deleted, and groups of 2 to 6 bots get a shared chat room with capped rounds and an @user escalation badge.
Bots message each other through a persistent Bot Chat conversation, and typing @name in any chat hands the message to another bot and reports back. A Routines pane lists recurring tasks per bot, backed by Hermes cron. Avatars can be geometric faces, uploaded images, AI portraits or pixel pets. The plugin needed no core patches. Development now continues in the hermes-agent repository, and current Desktop builds need no manual install.
