Import SillyTavern V2 character cards as SOUL.md personas for Hermes Agent and OpenClaw
SoulTavern is a skill that converts SillyTavern V2 character cards into SOUL.md persona files for agent runtimes such as Hermes Agent and OpenClaw.
What SoulTavern does
SoulTavern turns a SillyTavern V2 character card, in .png or .json form, into the markdown system-prompt files an agent runtime loads at session start. There are two production targets: --target hermes writes SOUL.md and HERMES.md, and --target openclaw writes SOUL.md, an AGENTS.md managed section and IDENTITY.md. It parses the card, substitutes the {{char}} and {{user}} placeholders and runs each text field through a sanitiser that strips zero-width, right-to-left override and control characters.
Each rendered file opens with an identity directive that overrides the runtime's default assistant framing, while operator-level safety stays above the persona. A library of scripts lists, switches, deletes, restores and reverts cards, with history snapshots. Cards larger than the runtime's per-file budget, 15k for Hermes and 9k for OpenClaw, trigger an agent-driven flow. It is one self-contained skill folder in Python with no third-party dependencies, and after a change you start a fresh session with /new or /reset.
