Trajectory

Hypabolic/Trajectory

Library that normalizes coding-agent session logs, Hermes included, into stable records in four languages

In short

Trajectory is a multi-language library that normalizes coding-agent session transcripts, Hermes among them, into stable, versioned records. It ships native packages for .NET, TypeScript, Rust and Python.

What Trajectory does

Trajectory ingests session logs from Pi, Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, Hermes, AHP, Grok Build and Cursor Agent, and converts them deterministically with stable IDs, ordering and hashes. From a single decode it can output a Hypabolic trajectory, a canonical identity, compact message arrays, OpenAI chat messages, minimal JSONL or OpenTelemetry GenAI spans. The records are meant to be stored, searched, replayed, evaluated, trained on and observed.

Usage has two steps. Listing APIs find sessions in each agent's local store, and a second call normalizes the transcript bytes. Since version 0.1.3, optional stream packages follow a growing JSONL session or AHP chat and emit snapshot and delta updates, with separate Hermes packages for each language. It is a library, not a daemon. Releases use the git tag as the version, and the same conformance suite runs in every ecosystem.

Key features

  • Ingest from Pi, Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, Hermes, AHP, Grok Build and Cursor Agent
  • Deterministic normalization with stable IDs, ordering and hashes
  • Outputs including OpenAI chat messages, minimal JSONL and OpenTelemetry GenAI spans
  • Local store listing with explicit roots and pagination
  • Live session streaming with snapshot and delta updates (0.1.3 and later)
  • Native packages for .NET, TypeScript, Rust and Python

When to use it

  • Converting Hermes session logs into a common format for evaluation or training data
  • Sending agent sessions to an OpenTelemetry backend as GenAI spans
  • Following a running Hermes session and receiving updates as it grows

Who it is for: Developers building evaluation, observability or training pipelines over coding-agent session logs from several tools.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

A general library that lists Hermes as one ingest source and offers optional Hermes live-stream packages in each language.

How to install Trajectory

These commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository for the latest steps before you run them.

dotnet add package Hypabolic.Trajectory
npm install @hypabolic/trajectory
cargo add hypabolic-trajectory
pip install hypabolic-trajectory

Requirements: Node 22+ for TypeScript, Rust 1.85 (MSRV) for Rust, Python 3.11+ for Python

FAQ

What is Trajectory?

Trajectory is a library that converts coding-agent session transcripts into stable, versioned records. The same wire contracts and conformance suite apply in its .NET, TypeScript, Rust and Python packages.

Does Trajectory work with Hermes Agent?

Yes. Hermes is one of the listed ingest sources, and optional Hermes packages such as hypabolic-trajectory[hermes] for Python support live session streaming.

How do I install Trajectory?

Use the package for your language: dotnet add package Hypabolic.Trajectory, npm install @hypabolic/trajectory, cargo add hypabolic-trajectory or pip install hypabolic-trajectory.
