Hermes Telegram Mini App

Terminal-style Telegram Mini App for chatting with Hermes, managing cron jobs and watching system status

In short

Hermes Telegram Mini App is a React dashboard that runs inside Telegram as a Mini App, giving a dark terminal-style interface to chat with a Hermes agent, manage cron jobs, spawn agents and watch system health.

What Hermes Telegram Mini App does

The interface has a terminal chat with streaming responses, slash commands and attachments such as images, PDFs and text files, plus a context bar showing the model name, token usage and session duration like the Hermes CLI. A Status tab shows CPU, memory and disk gauges, a process list and quick actions. A Cron tab creates, edits, deletes, pauses and triggers scheduled jobs. Agent spawning starts independent Hermes instances in the background, shows live output and accepts follow-up messages, up to five at a time.

Authentication validates Telegram's initData with both HMAC-SHA256 and Ed25519, and the README lists CSP headers, XSS sanitization, auth rate limiting, SRI and CSPRNG session IDs. A deploy.sh script builds the frontend and copies web_server.py and web_dist into the Hermes installation with a backup. Because hermes update overwrites those files, an optional post-merge git hook redeploys the mini app after each update. Optional local LLM servers can handle private image analysis and OCR.

  • Terminal chat with streaming, slash commands and file attachments
  • Context bar with model name, token usage and session duration
  • Status tab with CPU, memory and disk gauges and a process list

  • Pausing or triggering cron jobs without opening a terminal
  • Starting background Hermes instances and following their output

Who it is for: Hermes Agent users who already use Telegram and want a mobile dashboard for their agent.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Built for Hermes Agent: it deploys into the hermes-agent installation, reads its environment from ~/.hermes/.env and requires Hermes 0.9.0 or later.

How to install Hermes Telegram Mini App

These commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository for the latest steps before you run them.

git clone https://github.com/clawvader-tech/hermes-telegram-miniapp.git
cd hermes-telegram-miniapp
cd web && npm install && npm run build && cd ..
./deploy.sh --install-hook

Requirements: Hermes Agent 0.9.0+, a Telegram bot token from BotFather, your numeric Telegram user ID, a public HTTPS URL such as a Cloudflare tunnel or ngrok, and the Python cryptography package

Note: Deploying replaces web_server.py in the Hermes installation, and hermes update overwrites it again unless the post-merge hook is installed.
