Portable Agents Hub

AbuZar-Ansarii/Portable-Agents

USB-ready, self-contained workspaces for Hermes Agent and OpenClaw on Windows, macOS and Linux

In short

Portable Agents Hub is a collection of launcher scripts and workspaces that run Hermes Agent, OpenClaw and OpenClaude from a USB drive or external SSD without installing anything on the host computer.

What Portable Agents Hub does

The Hermes launchers, hermes.bat for Windows and hermes.sh for macOS and Linux, set up an isolated workspace. On first run the scripts download Python 3.11 and Node.js 22 into a local cache under Hermes/.cache/runtimes, create a virtual environment with uv, and clone and install Hermes. They set HERMES_HOME to the data folder next to the launcher, so API keys, history, skills and memories stay on the drive, and they prepend the downloaded binaries to PATH for the session only.

Provider keys such as OpenRouter, OpenAI and Anthropic go in Hermes/data/.env, or can be entered through a terminal menu option. The same layout is used for an OpenClaw workspace, with a menu for model setup, console chat, a web dashboard and Telegram pairing, and for an OpenClaude coding agent. Copying the drive between computers carries settings and memories with it.

Key features

  • Launchers for Windows (.bat) and macOS or Linux (.sh)
  • Python 3.11 and Node.js 22 downloaded into a local cache, with no host installs
  • HERMES_HOME redirected to a data folder so keys, history, skills and memories stay on the drive
  • Interactive terminal menu for provider setup
  • Parallel workspaces for OpenClaw and OpenClaude

When to use it

  • Carrying a Hermes setup between computers on a USB stick
  • Trying Hermes on a machine where you cannot install Python or Node.js
  • Keeping agent state and API keys off the host computer

Who it is for: Users who want to run Hermes Agent or OpenClaw from removable storage without touching the host system.
