Open-source deep research MCP server with cited multi-source web synthesis for Hermes and other agents

In short

Gigaxity Deep Research is an open-source MCP server and FastAPI service that runs multi-source web search and a reasoning model to return cited answers. Hermes, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can call it as an MCP tool.

What Gigaxity Deep Research does

The server exposes seven MCP tools: three primitives, search, vertical_search and research, and four deep-research tools, ask, discover, synthesize and reason. A matching FastAPI REST surface exists, and it can run as an MCP stdio server, a REST API or both. Behind the tools sit parallel multi-source search, RRF fusion, citation binding and contradiction detection.

Search connectors include SearXNG, Tavily, LinkUp, Brave and Parallel, alongside a Triple Stack of Context7, Exa and Jina MCPs and a bundled gptr-mcp companion that adds Reddit, X and YouTube. The synthesis stage runs on any OpenAI-compatible chat-completions model. The recommended default is Qwen3-30B-A3B-Thinking through OpenRouter, and a local-inference branch swaps OpenRouter for vLLM, SGLang or llama.cpp. Search providers are priced separately, and the CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md files hold configuration instructions that any MCP-capable harness can mirror.

Key features

  • Seven MCP tools: search, vertical_search, research, ask, discover, synthesize and reason
  • Matching FastAPI REST API; runs as MCP stdio, REST or both
  • Parallel multi-source search with RRF fusion, citation binding and contradiction detection
  • Connectors for SearXNG, Tavily, LinkUp, Brave and Parallel
  • Synthesis on any OpenAI-compatible model, with Qwen3-30B-A3B-Thinking as the recommended default
  • local-inference branch for vLLM, SGLang or llama.cpp

When to use it

  • Giving an agent a cited answer to a question beyond its training cutoff
  • Widening a source set with discover before synthesizing evidence
  • Running the synthesis model on your own hardware through the local-inference branch

Who it is for: Developers who want an open-source deep research tool that Hermes or another MCP-capable agent can call.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Supports Hermes Agent among other agents: the README names Hermes alongside Claude Code, Codex and Cursor as MCP-capable harnesses that can use it.

Requirements: An OpenAI-compatible chat-completions endpoint for synthesis (OpenRouter is the default) and search connectors such as SearXNG, Tavily, LinkUp, Brave or Parallel

Note: The search connectors and the OpenRouter-hosted model are priced separately by their providers, so full use may need paid accounts.
