Hermes Agent Cloud

Wizard-first CLI that deploys Hermes Agent to AWS, GCP or Azure VMs with Terraform and cloud secret stores

In short

Hermes Agent Cloud is a wizard-first command-line tool that deploys Hermes Agent to a virtual machine on AWS, GCP or Azure. It uses Terraform for the infrastructure and the cloud's own secret store for keys.

What Hermes Agent Cloud does

Hermes Agent Cloud is a wizard-first command-line tool that deploys Hermes Agent to a cloud VM on AWS, GCP or Azure. The hermes-deploy CLI is written in Bash with gum for the interface and Terraform for infrastructure, and its preflight checks confirm that dependencies such as gum, terraform, jq and the cloud CLIs are present.

Each cloud has its own Terraform module: EC2 with a security group, IAM and SSM Parameter Store on AWS, a VM with a VNet, NSG, Key Vault and managed identity on Azure, and a core deploy plus capability packs on GCP. Secrets go to the cloud's secret store rather than plaintext. A bootstrap script on the VM installs Docker and Hermes, pulls secrets and sets up systemd, and a 7-point health check runs on the instance. Per-cloud commands cover status, ssh, logs, secrets and destroy, with a doctor command on GCP. The repository also holds a Next.js marketing website, and other VPS providers are listed on the roadmap.

Key features

  • Interactive deploy wizard for AWS, GCP and Azure
  • Terraform modules for EC2 and IAM, Azure VM and Key Vault, and GCP with capability packs
  • Secrets kept in SSM Parameter Store, Azure Key Vault or the GCP equivalent
  • VM bootstrap that installs Docker and Hermes and sets up systemd
  • Per-cloud status, ssh, logs, secrets and destroy commands
  • 7-point on-instance health check

When to use it

  • Put a Hermes Agent on an always-on cloud VM without hand-writing infrastructure
  • Inspect logs or open an ssh session on a deployed agent from one CLI
  • Tear down a deployed agent and its cloud resources with a single command

Who it is for: Hermes Agent users who want a repeatable way to host the agent on AWS, GCP or Azure.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Built to provision Hermes Agent on cloud VMs, rendering a Hermes config template at deploy time.
