Searchable SQLite index of past coding-agent sessions, including Hermes Agent, with CLI, skill and app
Obelisk is a tool that indexes the local session history of coding agents, including Hermes Agent, into one SQLite database. Agents can query it through a CLI and skill, and people can browse it in a desktop app.
What Obelisk does
Obelisk reads past sessions from Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, DeepSeek Harness, Hermes Agent, Kiro, Kimi Code, OMP, Pi and ZCode, and keeps them in ~/.obelisk/obelisk.sqlite, refreshed by watching each configured provider directory. For agents, the obelisk CLI and an agent skill let the agent write JavaScript queries using helpers such as overview(), sessions(), search(), messages(), memories(), summaries() and sql(), run them locally and answer in plain language.
A memory layer lets the agent propose a Markdown memory file after a useful retrieval, which you approve and register for later recall. The Electron desktop app offers session browsing with search and project filters, memory lists, an activity heatmap, token charts, usage stats and weekly or monthly recap cards. The README says the first index run takes about 5 seconds for 100 sessions, and later runs rebuild incrementally. The CLI has zero runtime npm dependencies because it uses Node's built-in SQLite.
Key features
- Single SQLite index of sessions from ten coding agents, Hermes Agent included
- obelisk CLI and agent skill for queries written in JavaScript
- Approved Markdown memories recalled in future sessions
- Desktop app with session browser, activity heatmap and token charts
- Weekly and monthly recap cards
When to use it
- Asking which files changed during an old Hermes session and why
- Finding failed tool calls across recent tasks
- Recapping a week of agent work
Who it is for: Developers who run several coding agents and want to search their own session history.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Lists Hermes Agent among the supported session sources, so Hermes sessions are indexed together with those from other agents.
How to install Obelisk
These commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository for the latest steps before you run them.
npm install --global @obelisk-apps/cli

FAQ
What is Obelisk?
Obelisk is a tool that indexes local coding-agent session history into one SQLite database. An obelisk CLI and agent skill let agents search it, and an Electron desktop app lets you browse sessions, memories and usage stats.
Does Obelisk work with Hermes Agent?
Yes. The README names Hermes Agent among the supported sources, along with Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Kiro, Kimi Code, Pi and others, and the repository is tagged for coding-agent memory.
How do I install Obelisk?
Run npm install --global @obelisk-apps/cli, check it with obelisk --version, then run obelisk install to add the agent skill. It requires Node.js 22.13 or newer.
