Tiramisu

BitTorrent-backed FUSE filesystem that streams a private media library to Plex or Jellyfin

In short

Tiramisu is a BitTorrent engine and FUSE virtual filesystem that presents torrents as ordinary, seekable media files for a private Plex or Jellyfin library, with optional Hermes and OpenClaw skill integration.

What Tiramisu does

Every .mkv in the library looks like a normal file on disk, but each byte streams live from a BitTorrent swarm with no download step, temp files or storage quota. The BitTorrent engine, a patched fork of TorrServer Matrix and anacrolix/torrent, runs inside the same OS process as the FUSE layer, connected by an in-memory pipe, so Plex or Jellyfin reads bytes directly from peers with no HTTP proxy or serialization step in between.

A built-in sync engine written in Go, with no Python dependency, checks TMDB for new and trending titles on a schedule, searches Prowlarr with Torrentio as a fallback, and automatically replaces a lower-quality file once a better release appears. Music and audiobooks ride the same FUSE mount next to movies and TV, identified by a caller-supplied MusicBrainz or ASIN id rather than a filename guess. The project was previously named GoStream and carries the same codebase under its new name.

Key features

  • FUSE virtual filesystem that serves torrents as seekable files with no local download
  • BitTorrent engine and FUSE layer in one process, connected by an in-memory pipe
  • Automatic library sync from TMDB, with Prowlarr and Torrentio as search sources
  • Automatic upgrade of a title to a better release when one becomes available
  • Music and audiobooks served through the same mount, identified by external ids

When to use it

  • Running a private Plex or Jellyfin library that streams torrents without ever downloading them
  • Keeping a movie and TV library current automatically from a watchlist
  • Serving a self-hosted media library on constrained hardware such as a Raspberry Pi 4

Who it is for: Self-hosters who run Plex or Jellyfin and want a live-streaming torrent backend instead of a download-then-serve pipeline.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Tiramisu ships Hermes and OpenClaw agent-skill integration alongside its core FUSE and BitTorrent engine, so a Hermes agent can be given control over the library.

Note: Previously named GoStream; upgrading from an older install needs a fresh run of the install script because binary names, config paths and the systemd service name all changed.

FAQ

What is Tiramisu?

Tiramisu is a BitTorrent engine and FUSE virtual filesystem that makes a torrent swarm look like ordinary, seekable files to Plex or Jellyfin, with no download step. It was previously released under the name GoStream.

Does Tiramisu work with Hermes Agent?

Yes, the project is tagged and described as Hermes and OpenClaw ready, shipping an agent-skill integration alongside its core streaming engine.

Why is Tiramisu sometimes called GoStream?

GoStream is the project's previous name; Tiramisu is the same codebase under a new name, and upgrading from an older GoStream install needs a fresh run of the install script because binary names, config paths and the systemd service name all changed.
