Persona, emotion and governed long-term memory framework for Hermes Agent, with a read-only WebUI

In short

SoulLink is a Python framework for Hermes Agent that gives long-running AI personas a continuous emotional state, governed long-term memory and auditable context. It ships a read-only WebUI and an update command for Hermes with rollback.

What SoulLink does

SoulLink is an open-source runtime for agents that should feel like the same person over time. It combines a layered persona engine, continuous emotional state covering affection, trust, possessiveness and patience, governed long-term memory called PCLTM, exact context evidence and reversible host integration. Memories are treated as records with provenance rather than instructions, and retrieval similarity alone cannot authorize a fact or inject it into model input.

Version 2.3 adds a read-only WebUI called the Neural Observatory, which separates exact host capture from sidecar reconstruction and marks missing evidence as unavailable. Hermes integration follows a detect, backup, apply, verify, receipt and rollback sequence, and soullink-hermes-update performs updates with recovery points and compatibility checks. A Codex adapter is also provided over STDIO MCP. The core runtime does not require Hermes or Codex, which are optional adapters.

Key features

  • Layered persona engine with continuous emotional state
  • Governed long-term memory with provenance, validation and policy judgment before promotion
  • Read-only WebUI that distinguishes exact host capture from sidecar preview
  • soullink-hermes-update for Hermes updates with recovery points and rollback evidence
  • Reversible host integration with byte-exact rollback
  • soullink init, doctor and webui commands

When to use it

  • Running a companion-style Hermes persona that keeps a stable identity across long conversations
  • Auditing which memories actually influenced a model reply
  • Updating a Hermes install with a recovery point you can roll back to

Who it is for: Builders of long-running persona agents on Hermes Agent who need persistent identity, emotion and traceable memory.

How it fits with Hermes Agent

Described as a dynamic emotion system framework for Hermes Agent, with Hermes as an optional, explicit host adapter alongside the standalone core runtime.

How to install SoulLink

These commands are copied from the project's README. Check the repository for the latest steps before you run them.

git clone https://github.com/miyamoriaoi1997-del/Soul-Llink.git
cd Soul-Llink
uv sync --group dev
uv run soullink init

Requirements: uv for the local start; Hermes and Codex are optional adapters, and the core runtime works without them

FAQ

What is SoulLink?

SoulLink is an open-source runtime for persistent AI personas. It combines a persona engine, continuous emotion, governed long-term memory and auditable context, with an adapter for Hermes Agent.

Does SoulLink work with Hermes Agent?

Yes. Hermes is supported through an optional, explicit adapter, and soullink-hermes-update handles updates with recovery points. The core runtime also works without Hermes.

How do I install SoulLink?

Clone the repository, run uv sync --group dev, then uv run soullink init. After that, uv run soullink doctor checks the setup and uv run soullink webui opens the dashboard at 127.0.0.1:8765.
