CLI and dashboard that tracks token usage and cost across AI coding agents, including Hermes Agent
Tokscale is a Rust-based CLI and visualization dashboard that tracks token usage and costs across many AI coding agents. It reads Hermes Agent session data from $HERMES_HOME/state.db and the per-profile state.db files.
What Tokscale does
Tokscale reads the local session data that coding agents already write and turns it into usage and cost reports. For Hermes Agent it reads $HERMES_HOME/state.db and $HERMES_HOME/profiles/*/state.db, falling back to ~/.hermes. The same tool covers OpenCode, Claude Code, OpenClaw, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cursor IDE, Amp, Droid, Pi and others, each with its own data location listed in the README.
Views include an overview, a models breakdown, a daily summary, stats and a 3D contributions graph, plus a Wrapped 2025 summary. Running bunx tokscale@latest submit sends your usage to a public leaderboard and creates a public profile. The README is available in English, Korean, Japanese and Simplified Chinese, and the package is published on npm.
Key features
- Reads local session data from many coding agents, Hermes Agent included
- Covers profile-specific Hermes data under $HERMES_HOME/profiles
- Usage and cost views: overview, models, daily summary and stats
- 3D contributions graph and a Wrapped 2025 summary
- Optional public leaderboard submission with bunx tokscale@latest submit
- Written in Rust and published as an npm package
When to use it
- Compare token spend across Hermes Agent profiles and other coding agents
- See which models consume the most tokens on a given day
- Publish a public usage profile on the leaderboard
Who it is for: Developers who run several AI coding agents and want one view of token consumption and cost.
How it fits with Hermes Agent
Supports Hermes Agent as one of many tracked clients, reading its state.db files including per-profile databases.
