What Skill Auto Maintain does

Agent-created skills tend to end up scattered across folders such as creative, devops and auto-generated, with no registry or quality control. This skill runs a four-step flow. Scan walks every skill directory, skips bundled skills and migrates orphans into user_skills, recording them in user_skills.json. Compare scores similarity across four dimensions and flags merge candidates for manual review only. Optimise fixes SKILL.md formatting and runs content quality checks. Report summarizes every action taken.

The skill consists of a SKILL.md and a maintain.py script, and uses only the Python 3 standard library, with no external dependencies. It is installed by copying the skill folder into ~/.hermes/skills. In Hermes you can type /skill and pick skill-auto-maintain, or simply ask the agent to run skill auto maintenance. The README is available in English and Chinese.
